Indoor Pools

Indoor pools provide fun throughout Indiana’s entire seasonal calendar, and these are great places to learn to swim. In fact, most of these locations provide both group and private swim lessons. See slightly further down for more direct swimming lesson information.

  • Faith Community Centers
    • North (Lafayette, IN)
      • “The Northend Community Center offers a state of the art indoor pool complete with two lap lanes, zero depth entry, a therapeutic pool (jetted seating area) and splash pad for kids.”
  • Lafayette Family YMCA (Lafayette, IN)
    • “Our newest YMCA facility has an accessible pool with space for exercise and family time.”
    • Unfortunately, this pool is currently closed due to maintenance with no set date for reopening. Keep your eyes peeled to their website for insight on the YMCA Aquatic Center’s repair.
  • West Lafayette Wellness Center (West Lafayette, IN)
    • “Our 170,000-gallon pool includes four 25-yard lap lanes, a walking vortex, an open swim area, and a zero-depth splash pad.”
  • Purdue Rec Center (West Lafayette, IN)
    • The Recreation Pool is open from 2:00 – 9:00 P.M. daily.
    • “The aquatics program spans two different facilities and offers open recreation swim, varying swim lessons, and varying American Red Cross safety courses… The Morgan J Burke Aquatics Center is a 80,521 sq. ft. facility, renovated through a collaboration between Recreation & Wellness, Intercollegiate Athletics and the Department of Health & Kinesiology. The pool features seating for 625 spectators and hosts competitions at a local, regional and national level… The Recreation Pool is located within the CoRec. It features: three 25 yard lap lanes, a 26 person spa, vortex, two water basketball goals, and water Volleyball.

Outdoor Pools

All Greater Lafayette, IN outdoor pools open Memorial Day weekend, and they remain open through mid August. We hope your summer allows you to enjoy all the pool fun while you can!

  • Tropicanoe Cove (Columbian Park; Lafayette, IN)
    • Opens Saturday, May 28, 2022

  • Happy Hollow Pool/ West Lafayette Municipal Pool (West Lafayette, IN)
    • Opens Saturday, May 28, 2022
    • “Three heated pools with 250,000 gallon capacity. Baby pool is less than one foot deep. Intermediate pool is 1 1/2 to 3 foot deep.  Large pool is 3 1/2 to 12 1/2 foot deep with two low diving boards.  There are 3 shade structures.”

    • Vinton Pool features a beach-like entrance, double water slide, playful water geysers, large umbrellas and lap lanes. Pool rental is available after hours.”

  • Prophetstown Aquatic Center (Prophetstown State Park; West Lafayette, IN)
    • Opens Saturday, May 28, 2022
    • “The aquatic center features a 30-foot tube slide, body flume, lazy river float area, adventure channel, zero-entry pool with play features, and an aquatic activity area with basketball. The bathhouse has showers, changing areas, restrooms, lockers (guest provides the lock) and a concession area.”
