Purdue Spring Fest is April, 9th, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. EST.
Purdue University‘s Spring Fest is nothing less than a legendary Greater Lafayette, IN event. Come for, “hands on activities in engineering, technology, art, and cultural experiences” and stay for the memories that’ll last a lifetime. This community-oriented day brings in fans young and old. The entire family will have something to enjoy on this fun filled day! Here’s a breakdown of the main sections to see while there. We can’t wait for Spring Fest 2022.
Open house at the College of Veterinary Medicine
Walk through a large, open space with a small petting zoo. Years past have held pigs, donkeys, goats, chickens, and so much more. If you have a young one interested in animals, stop by the garage for animal fun! The staff is ready to answer questions about all things Veterinary Medicine!
Bug Bowl
Maybe this is bias speaking, but the Bug Bowl is the coolest part of Spring Fest! It’s jam packed with educational activities and experiences. Have you ever eaten a cricket in chocolate? Or looked closely and held a monarch butterfly or spit a cricket? The Bug Bowl is the place to experience and learn about all things buggy: the good, bad, and ugly. The kids will go wild over seeing you eat a bug! Cricket spitting is a unique sport invented at Purdue in 1996 by Professor Tom Turpin. No pre-registration is required before the day of the event. Cricket spitting takes place on the Purdue Memorial Mall.

Plant Sale
Find thousands of plants in the plant sale for your flower boxes, landscaping overhaul, or indoor potted plant additions. This is an excellent stop to find the perfect combinations for your home, and also support Purdue and its community.
Bug Bowl Art Contest
One of the best parts of Bug Bowl is all the insect art – both the art on display and the crafts families create together. The 2022 Insect Art Contest is open to all Indiana students enrolled in grades K-12. Registration is limited to 1600 students. Check out the guidelines for rules, judging, and entry information.
